The Orange Grove Bulldogs won their home opener this past Friday night
in a rainy, muddy game against the Goliad Tigers. The score was 27-19,
and there were plenty of highlights on the night. The following players
turned in either a great performance on the night, or that really key
play that made the difference. ~Coach Hall

Offensive Lineman
of Week Two:
Junior--Garrett
New turned in a stellar performance on the night.
The sweeps were a big part of the offense, and his “search and destroy”
play was a big reason why. |
 |
Offensive Back
of Week Two:
Senior--Cody Gomez got
on the scoreboard twice and hauled in a key pass reception for a key first
down late in the game. This touchdown run was a one play answer to
Goliad's first score. |

Defensive Lineman
of Week Two:
Junior--Bryce
Osborne lead the D-Line in tackles, but this QB sack late in
the fourth quarter was his highlight of the evening.

 |
Defensive Back
of Week Two:
Senior linebacker--Cody Leal
edged out several nominees for this week's award, but his two fumble
recoveries, including this one, pushed him ahead.

Good Job,
Bulldogs! |

Momentum Play
of the Game:
Holding on to
a one touchdown lead late in the game, Trey Porras
stepped in front of this Goliad pass, thanks to the pressure of Senior
Linebacker Jesse Salas, for the key play of the night. |
