The Orange Grove Bulldogs won their Homecoming game in convincing style
last Friday night with a victory over Falfurrias 41-0. The “voting” for
this week’s players and plays of the week was difficult with so many
highlight performances turned in, but here are this week’s winners.

Offensive Lineman
Senior
Quick Guard Jesse Salas gets on the board for
the offense this week. His “search and destroy” play was a big reason for
halfback Cody Gomez’ yards. Here are a few of his plays in different
situations.

Cody Gomez got the scoring started with this 64
yard scamper. After this play, the Bulldogs never looked back.

Defensive Lineman
Maroni Berrios is this week’s D-lineman of the
week. He led the d-line with nine tackles and was, at times, seemingly
all over the field.

Cody Gomez led the rushing attack again with
158 yards on the night, but his four touchdowns were what pushed him ahead
this week. |

Senior
Jesse Salas is once again the defensive
player of the week. He led the team in tackles and wreaked havoc in the
Jerseys' backfield. He is also the first player to receive this
recognition on both sides of the ball in the same game. |
